Waterfall 04:47
In the darkest night finally there Through the brightening air Under sweeping skies On to a bright new dawn From the darkest heart of the lake Gentle waters break Over sleeping sands On to a silent shore Steel that shines on an empty stage Sweet the life in an open grave Full of love you gave Of an endless Spring In the oldest part of it all Stands the Waterfall And the softest sounds that it makes So the wide wind takes of the best of me Down to a shining sea Steel that shines on an empty stage Sweet the life in an open grave Full of love you gave Of an endless Spring When the gifts you bore Ended everything And the gifts you bore Ended everything

Sarah Jane 03:27
Listen to me Sarah Jane Listen to these words that make you live again Helped me see reality Be the man I got to be See the things I got to see If you hadn't crossed the line If you hadn't paved the road and made the time Nothing I would rather do Than walk the London streets with you Walk the London streets with you Listen to me Sarah Jane Listen to these words that make you live again All the week you made me see But Friday got away from me Friday got away from me Listen to me Sarah Jane If you were to have your time and live again Nothing I would rather do Than walk the London streets with you Rainy London streets with you Listen to these words that make you live again Helped me see reality See the things I got to see Be the man I got to be See the things I got to see Be the man I got to be

Wake 03:40
Wake, my incandescent heart It's all in your dream It's all in your dream Wake to one too beautiful It's all in your dream It's all in your dream If you won't wear a ring It won't mean a thing It won't mean a thing And you're the bird that sings It won't mean a thing It won't mean a thing And if she sleeps more than than she should She's just half a world away She's just half a world away And if she sleeps more than than she should More than is good More than than she should Wake If you won't wear a ring my love It won't mean a thing It won't mean a thing And if she sleeps more than than she should She's just half a world away She's just half a world away Until today Until today And it won't mean a thing It won't mean a thing It won't mean a thing It won't mean a thing She's just half a world away She's just half a world away And it won't mean a thing It won't mean a thing She's just half a world away She's just half a world away She's just half a world away

Heavenward 03:41
And all of your days you've had something to feel guilty of Held it there with grim delight And where are the faces that said heal with your happiness Surely got to heaven Around and around and around Diffident where the wind blows And there are the places living deep in your memories All around the fading light And there where you whispered in a strange kind of reverie All alone confess it Around and around and around Diffident where the wind blows Around and around and around Diffident where the wind blows And where is it prayed for? And where do you pay for it? All truth and struggling Heavenward

Montmartre 04:11
Here in Montmartre There are passages of love I heard you wandering far away Deep in a place That can't possibly exist Put all of your faith in one kiss Have a lovely time in the sun In the sun True to your word You have given me this one Lone memory sketch of the two of us Here is this place Where the sun can never set No place no time, just believe in it Have a lovely time in the sun In the sun Here in Montmartre Under passages of love I heard you wandering far above Deep in this place That can't possibly exist Put all of your faith in one kiss Have a lovely time in the sun In the sun In the sun In the sun In the sun In the sun

Early morning 'round Victoria In the Summer sun They're waiting for a train to come Promenading on the river as they've always done As they've always done And never bothered anyone Takes her home and makes the dinner And their time is run As if the day has just begun Dreams of Lisa Says she'll love him When the money's gone And so would anyone And so would anyone Dreams of Lisa Says she'll love him When the money's gone.

I was the lamb She absolved for the day And she rested there in the strangers air in the sudden night And her song was delight And such a lovely way In a whirlpool of summer rain It was all she had to give me And it was all she had to give me All she had to give And all the world would know how happy we were then And she sang for love And she was beautiful Yes she was Admhaim do Dhia uilechumhachtach agus daoibhse, a bráithe gur pheacaigh mé go trom le smaoineamh agus le briathar le ghiomh agus le faillí trí mo choir féin trí mo choir féin trí mo choir féin trí mo mhór choir féin [“I confess to God Almighty And to you my brothers That I have sinned heavily In thought and word In action and fault Through my own sins Through my own sins Through my own sins Through my own great sins”] She couldn't stay away God she was beautiful Yes she was And now we sing Now we even dance alone And it was all she had to give me All she had to give me And the world would know how happy we were then But she couldn't stay away God she was beautiful Yes she was Admhaim do Dhia uilechumhachtach agus daoibhse, a bráithe gur pheacaigh mé go trom le smaoineamh agus le briathar le ghiomh agus le faillí

Fragments 03:42
When love is not returned She will enfold you Temporal memories Of all her jaded lovers When love is not returned She will betray you With honey sweet lips And you'll get carried away Into her modern nightmare Desperate she remains and so the story goes on On and on and on When love is not returned She holds on tightly 'til nothing's left but fragments That drift away now Signifying nothing She flies away, free as a bird 'til she touched him They whirl and dance around us When love is not returned She holds on tightly 'til nothing's left but fragments That drift away now Signifying nothing That drift away now Signifying nothing

The River 03:53
When all of the light in your world has flickered and stilled And all your time disappears Can I stay awhile? I saw you today I saw you were drifting away When you're only holding on and every second is lasting a day It's funny how a little music Can take you away You could have been anything You could have had all this, couldn't you? You could have been anything Now only the rain gentled waters carry you still They'll hold the ones that you've loved Well maybe they will I saw you today I saw you were drifting away You could have been anything You could have had all this, couldn't you? You could have been anything

about

20 years after the release of his first critically acclaimed album “Songs For a Fallen Angel” John McGlynn self-releases his second album “Fragments”.
The album is built around McGlynn’s crystal-clear vocals and unique fingerstyle guitar. “Fragments” has been a long time coming. “It wasn’t the right time” is the answer to the question “why did you wait so long to release it?”.
The collaboration with Rebecca Shannon [Chirpy] was a matter of chance and great luck. Her sublime synth work and production have elevated this beautiful album into an artistic masterpiece that closes the door on two decades of work.
John has worked with Elvis Costello, The Chieftains, Barry Manilow, Sinead O’Connor, Sting, Moving Hearts, Jerry Fish and is the co-director of the ground-breaking Irish choral group Anúna.
He has sung on two Grammy Award winning albums [The Chieftains - The Long Journey Home and Riverdance].
